On Sunday, November 5, 2023 we were honored to celebrate Mike and MarySue Witchger as the recipients of the St. Martin de Porres Award.
The St Martin De Porres Award is given to a member of the Regina Dominican Family who exemplifies the Dominican pillar of service within the school community. St Martin has been described as laboring in the fields of the Lord and thereby having changed the world around him. So too have our honorees labored in the fields of Regina Dominican High school and changed the world around them.
Mary Sue and Mike have been involved at RDHS from the first day their first daughter Maddie walked through our doors and have selflessly served the Regina Family in numerous ways ever since. "If you need lawn signs delivered, there are the Witchgers. If you need food frilled and handed out, there are the Witchgers. If you need a team meal calendar created, enter the Witchgers. If you need friends to enjoy a night out, dinner, a movie, music or just hanging out, we call MarySue and Mike" said Regina Dominican Head Basketball Coach Bob Newton. " The list goes on as does their willingness to serve all at Regina."
Their daughter Maddie, Class of 2024 is a 3-sport athlete and they are always cheering on the Panthers. Maddie was also the first Regina Dominican Panther to be a member of the IHSA Student Advisory Committee.
