WILMETTE, Ill – Saturday, May 27, 2023 – Regina Dominican High School celebrated the Class of 2023 with Convocation and Graduation at the end of May. Kicking off the graduation celebration was the annual Convocation Ceremony on Friday, May 26, which highlighted student achievement during their four years of high school. The Commencement Mass and ceremony were held on campus the next day, Saturday, May 27, 2023. Mass was presided over by Father Peter Wojcik.
Alumnae medalist, Catherine Garvey Goldthorpe '79, spoke to the graduates and recalled her time at Regina Dominican. Highlighting her career as a Pediatric Nurse and then a Lawyer focusing on health care and malpractice cases, Catherine gave the new graduates a wonderful reminder stating “While at Regina, you were taught to think independently, be confident, and excel in all you do. You were encouraged to be compassionate and kind, and use your gifts and God-given talents to minister and be of service to others. Your faith and these skills and traits will serve you well throughout your life.”
Senior Mimi Waddell was awarded the Principal’s Award for Superior Scholarship. This award is given to a graduating senior who has maintained the highest level of academic achievement during her four-year attendance at Regina Dominican.
