Student Highlight- Angela P. '29

We are incredibly proud to spotlight Angela Parial ’29, who will be honored as the Patient Champion at the Chicago Auto Show First Look for Charity event on February 6th—an evening that supports Lurie Children’s Hospital and 17 other vital charities. 💙✨

First Look for Charity, presented by the Chicago Automobile Trade Association and new-car dealers of Chicagoland and northwest Indiana, raises critical funds for children and families across our region.

Angela’s journey is one of remarkable courage and hope. Diagnosed with medulloblastoma as a kindergartener, Angela received life-saving care at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, where she underwent surgery followed by extensive chemotherapy and radiation. Her strength throughout treatment earned her the nickname “stormtrooper,” a tribute to her fearless spirit. Lurie Children’s has continued to support Angela through ongoing care and recovery, including after a stroke in the summer of 2024.

Through it all, Angela and her school community have helped raise over $100,000 to support pediatric brain tumor research and care—impacting countless children and families. Today, Angela continues to share her story to inspire hope and resilience in others.

Angela is now a freshman at Regina Dominican High School, and we are honored to stand with her as she uses her voice to make a difference. Congratulations, Angela—we are so proud of you and your unstoppable heart.
