Regina Dominican Track & Field Captures IHSA Sectional Championship

WILMETTE, IL — Regina Dominican High School is proud to announce that the Panthers Track & Field team captured the IHSA Sectional Championship yesterday at C Hope Academy. This historic victory marks the program’s first sectional title since 2009 and only the second sectional championship in school history.

The Panthers showcased an outstanding team effort, with every varsity athlete who competed contributing points toward the championship total.

Individual sectional champions included:

  • Madeleine Haran ‘28 — 800-meter run

  • Chloe Thiel ‘26 — 1600-meter run

  • Milly Musbach ‘29 — 3200-meter run

  • Ariella Yeboah ‘26 — High Jump

The Panthers also secured sectional titles in two relay events:

  • 4x400 Relay Team: Olivia Mauer ‘26, Grace Byrne ‘27, Ceila Stevens ‘29, and Madeleine Haran ‘28

  • 4x800 Relay Team: Niamh Byrne ‘28, Chloe Thiel ‘26, Olivia Mauer ‘26, and Madeleine Haran ‘28

In addition to the sectional champions, several Panthers qualified for the IHSA State Finals, which will take place next Thursday in Charleston:

  • Madeleine Haran ‘28 — 400-meter dash

  • Chloe Thiel ‘26 — 800-meter run

  • Milly Musbach ‘29 — 1600-meter run

  • Lulu Tamayo ‘28 — 3200-meter run

  • 4x200 Relay Team: Olivia Mauer ‘26, Jillian DeFranza ‘26, Ceila Stevens ‘29, and Rosie Burke ‘28

  • Erin Foley ‘27 — Triple Jump

The Regina Dominican community congratulates the Track & Field team on this remarkable achievement and wishes all state qualifiers the best of luck at the IHSA State Finals which take place next week Thursday 5/21 and Saturday 5/23 at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois.
