Entrance Exam – Class of 2030

To be considered for the Allworth Scholars Program and merit scholarships, students must take the Catholic High School Entrance Exam (HSPT) at Regina Dominican.

Entrance Exam Date:
Saturday, December 6, 2025 | 8:00 AM Start

Registration opens on Friday, November 21, 2025

Make-Up Exams available for students who did not test elsewhere.

Application Process

To apply for the Class of 2030:

1. Submit Online Application – Includes student/parent info and a required student essay
2. Upload Academic Records – 7th & 8th grade transcripts and standardized test scores
3. Apply for Financial Aid (optional) – Accessible through your admissions account
4. Register for the Entrance Exam – Registration for the Entrance Exam opens on Friday, November 21, 2025.

Admission to Regina Dominican is based on a holistic review of several factors, including—but not limited to—entrance exam scores, academic performance in grade school, involvement in extracurricular activities, demonstrated leadership, and a strong alignment with the mission and values of Regina Dominican.

North Shore High School Application Agreement

Beginning for the 8th grade graduating Class of 2026, 8th grade young women who test at Loyola Academy, Regina Dominican, or Woodlands Academy may simultaneously apply for admission at any of the three schools.  

Students should still take the entrance exam at their top choice school on the first Saturday in December, as students will only be considered for merit scholarships at the institution where they take the entrance exam.  

Parents will be able to indicate on the digital application for their student’s top choice school if they would like their daughter’s test scores to also be shared with one or both of the other schools. Parents are then able to fill out the application to one or both of the other schools as well.  

Admissions decisions and financial aid considerations will be shared by early February, and the 8th grader and her family will decide which school to enroll in by the time of registration sessions in mid-February.  

This agreement only pertains to the three high schools noted above and does not apply with any other Catholic high schools.

Thinking of transferring to Regina Dominican?

We welcome transfer applications from students who are seeking a strong academic environment rooted in Dominican values. Admission is competitive and space is limited, but we encourage qualified students to apply.

Application Deadlines

• Fall Transfer Applications: Must begin by July 30, 2025
• Mid-Year Transfer Applications: Must begin by November 14, 2025

Transfer Applicant Qualifications
To be considered, transfer applicants must:

• Be in good academic standing
• Have completed the appropriate number of credits for grade level
• Have no disciplinary record (including suspensions or expulsions)
• Demonstrate a clear alignment with the mission of Regina Dominican

Please Note: Regina Dominican is not staffed to support students with behavioral disorders (including but not limited to Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Intermittent Explosive Disorder, or school refusal). While our supportive, personalized environment helps students thrive, we do not offer a therapeutic education program.

How to Apply as a Transfer Student

1. Start by booking a personalized tour or meeting with our Enrollment Team.
2. Complete the Online Transfer Application
3. Submit Required Documents:

• $75 Application Fee
• Unofficial transcript(s)
• Attendance and discipline report
• Letter of recommendation (from current school administrator or counselor)
• In Good Standing Form (if applicable)

Once materials are reviewed, qualified applicants may be invited to interview with our Assistant Principal and a member of the Enrollment Team. 

Admissions Decision:

Following the interview, applicants will receive an official admission decision. Final transcripts will be required upon acceptance and must be sent directly to the Regina Dominican Enrollment Office (no faxes accepted).

Our college preparatory curriculum offers more than 140 courses, including 17 Advanced Placement (AP) classes, giving students the opportunity to explore their interests and prepare for success at the next level. Dedicated college counseling ensures that every international student is guided through the application process and supported in finding the right college fit. Regina Dominican graduates are consistently accepted into many of the nation’s most selective colleges and universities.

Beyond the classroom, international students engage fully in campus life—joining more than 25 clubs, competing on 11 IHSA athletic teams, and performing in musicals, plays, and dance ensembles. These experiences enrich their high school journey while fostering friendships that last a lifetime.

Application Requirements:

1. Complete the required online international student application for program consideration
2. Submit transcripts from the last two years(translated to English)
3. Submit Duolingo or TOEFL results
4. Schedule interview with the Regina Dominican admission committee
