Leadership Luncheon - 6/10/2026

On Wednesday, June 10th, Regina Dominican welcomed alumnae, community leaders, and supporters to our Leadership Luncheon: Leading with Purpose .

We were honored to hear from distinguished alumnae Delia Farrell Marshall ’96, President of Eicoff, and Mary Kate McGivern Daly ’94, Chief of Community Health at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, as they reflected on how their careers began and the lasting impact Regina Dominican had on their lives long after graduation.

Delia and Mary Kate shared an important reminder with our alumnae and guests: while your career path may not always look the way you imagined, you will end up where you are meant to be. Through every twist, challenge, and opportunity, they emphasized the importance of remaining grounded in faith, trusting the process, and leading with authenticity and purpose.

Their stories served as a powerful example of how Regina continues to inspire truth-seekers and compassionate, confident leaders who make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for such an inspiring afternoon!

36th Annual Black & White Gala

On Saturday, March 6, Regina Dominican High School hosted its annual Black & White Gala, bringing together parents, alumnae, and friends of the school for an evening celebrating community and supporting the mission of empowering young women through education. The event was a tremendous success making it the most successful Gala in the school’s history.

One of the most memorable moments of the evening came from three inspiring student speakers, Abby Thiel '26, Casey Joyce '26, and Kye Phillips '26 , who shared heartfelt reflections on their Regina Dominican experiences. Their authenticity, gratitude, and grace moved guests and served as a powerful reminder of the lasting impact the school community has on its students.

During the evening, Regina Dominican also recognized Kim King and Jon King, parents of Gillian ’18, as this year’s Caeli Award recipients, honoring their dedication, generosity, and steadfast belief in the Regina Dominican community.

The evening was made possible through the dedication of the Gala Committee, including Chrissie Balbarin, Mary Galanis, Jen Jessen Lunt, and Vickie Grandinetti Park. Special recognition was also given to Gala Chairs Jeannie and Brian Schafer whose leadership and commitment helped make the event truly extraordinary.

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, donors, volunteers, and guests, the Black & White Gala continues to play a vital role in supporting Regina Dominican’s programs and enhancing opportunities for its students.

An Evening with Norah O'Donnell

On Wednesday, March 11, Regina Dominican High School was honored to welcome Norah O'Donnell, chief anchor of CBS Evening News, to campus for a special evening celebrating the stories of extraordinary women who helped shape the United States. The event, held in partnership with The Book Stall, featured a conversation about O’Donnell’s new book, We the Women.

Several hundred guests—including students, families, alumnae, faculty, and community members—gathered for the program, which highlighted the importance of preserving and sharing the stories of women whose leadership and courage have helped define our nation’s history. Through research and storytelling in We the Women, O’Donnell brings attention to remarkable women whose contributions have often been overlooked, reminding readers that history is richer and more complete when these voices are included.

Adding to the significance of the evening, the conversation was moderated by Regina Dominican alumna Marie Saavedra ’02, news anchor at CBS Chicago. Saavedra’s thoughtful questions and her connection to the Regina Dominican community created a meaningful dialogue that resonated with students and guests alike.

Throughout the discussion, O’Donnell encouraged young women to continue using their voices, break barriers, and lead with both passion and courage—an inspiring message for the Regina Dominican students in attendance.

Events like this reflect Regina Dominican’s commitment to empowering young women to become confident leaders, thoughtful citizens, and engaged members of their communities. Hosting influential voices such as O’Donnell provides students with the opportunity to hear firsthand about the power of storytelling, leadership, and perseverance.

Guests left the evening inspired by the stories shared and the reminder that the voices of women—past and present—continue to shape the future.

We the Women is available at your favorite local bookstore, including The Book Stall.
